We’ve spent the past couple of days just hanging out, giving exams, and grading. Christmas was nice, though very quiet, and I enjoyed an out of country Christmas experience.
Yesterday we were informed by one of our bosses that all of our bosses got together, discussed us, and decided they are so pleased with our performance as teachers here they wanted to reward us. So what is our grand prize? An extra two weeks off added to our already six-week long winter holiday. Our last classes of the semester are this Sunday and then we don’t have classes again until mid-February! The posts are about to get a lot more adventuresome with all of our travels across the country.
For now, I wanted to reblog a post from a friend of mine who is also teaching in China this year through CIEE. In some respects his experiences are almost identical to ours though other experiences, mainly based on his location in the far Northeast of China, seem like he’s on another planet (maybe he is).
Thanks for reading!
Until next time,
It’s hard to believe the fourth month of my time in China is already drawing to a close. Time hasn’t seemed to go any slower or faster, but all the same, when I sit back and actually think about it, it’s incredible to think I’ve been living in China for a full third of a year. And what a wild four months it’s been.
